As the son of a pediatrician, Dr. Forest was drawn to medicine as a young man, but he did not find his medical specialty passion until medical school. Born and raised on the east coast, Dr. Forest earned his undergraduate degree at Clark University in Massachusetts and attended medical school at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was at Temple that Dr. Forest discovered otology and the interesting range of conditions it addressed.

Upon graduating medical school, Dr. Forest did his residency at The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Newark and went on to complete fellowship training in otology at The Otology Group in Nashville, Tennessee. This prestigious program has a storied history of producing exceptional neurotologic surgeons since 1975.

Dr. Forest began his medical practiced in Delaware in 1987, but the mountains beckoned and in 2003 he moved his family to Carson City, Nevada, and joined SNENT. He and his wife of 35 years love calling northern Nevada home and enjoy skiing, fishing, camping and hiking throughout the Sierra Nevada mountains.
